This isn't a one-season-and-done bag. We use the highest quality leather we can find. It's important to us to make bags that will stay looking and feeling great through all your travels. In fact, it'll even get softer with use. Right now we use leather from a tannery in Italy. This tannery has been producing high quality hides since 1958 and has several ISO certifications for quality and environmental practices. For example, they have implemented water-based finishing processes, built water purification plants and reduced their emissions of carbon dioxide. We feel good about this leather, and so will you.
Our bags are cut and sewn in the Garment District in NYC. We support the effort to save the Garment District - we buy American made clothing all the time!
It's great to be responsible about where and how our bags are made, but that wasn't really enough for us. We want to actively give back to the world, make it a better place and all that. We know that the bigger the wealth disparity is, the sicker and more miserable a community is. Yep - it's true. Don't just take our word for it: click here. We also know that lending money to women in impoverished countries to help them start or expand a business has a very real, very powerful impact on the economic and physical health of not just them, but their whole community. (Want to read more? Click here.) That's why we give 10% of our profits to the Kiva "Half The Sky" lending team, and provide micro-loans to the women who need it most.
We ship using USPS ground, priority, or express, your choice. Rates start at $5 for ground shipping, and include handling and insurance. Your bag will be shipped from Iowa within 48 hours from the time you place your order. We don't ship on weekends or holidays, so please allow additional time if you place an order on one of those days.
Right now, we can ship to the United Kingdom using USPS International Priority with shipping times of 6-10 days. The shipping charge for this includes handling and insurance but does not include the additional customs, duties, or fees the package may be subject to once it arrives in the UK. The customs or postal agent will contact you for payment of any additional duties prior to delivery. Interested in having us ship a bag somewhere else in the world? We will be happy to accept a return for refund or exchange within 30 days of purchase if the merchandise is unused and in the same condition you received it. Sale items cannot be returned.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. If we reject the return/refund, we will return the item to you.
Late or missing refund?
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at email@example.com.
We can't process exchanges at this time. If you want to exchange your purchase, send it back as a return and we will refund your money, then you can place a new order for what you really want. Send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know what you're up to. We may be able to set aside the item you want and hold it for you.
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
Shipping on Returns
Shipping costs are non-refundable. Shipping costs on returns are paid by the party making the return. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund. We recommend shipping with a trackable shipping service and/or purchasing shipping insurance to ensure safe delivery.
